Rare Delights and A Tomahawk at The Fireplace

Some beefy rare delights and a serious Tomahawk. It's just another memorable evening at The Fireplace...

The warm amber glow from the ovens provide that unique ethereal radiance that defines The Fireplace at New World Manila Bay Hotel, and you just know dinner is going to be special...

Inside The Fireplace, the friendly staff who know you by name immediately make you feel at home. It's the elegant cuisine and impeccable service that make each visit special, and tonight, it's a date with the Rare Delights and the signature Tomahawk at The Fireplace.

A bottle of fine Pinot Noir was recommended for the evening's dinner, and served by the staff (for more on The Fireplace, see my posts, What's New at The Fireplace... and Beat the Monday Blues with the Burger and Free-Flowing Beer Mondays at The Fireplace).

After a few glasses of Pinot Noir, the first courses were served, starting with the rustic and hearty Traditional French Onion Soup (P 450) topped with a baked crust of creamy Emmentaler and Gruyere. The subtle sweetness of the caramelized onions and the bold notes of the beef stock come together in a seamless savory blend, capped by the equally rich flavors of the cheese. Perfect starts at The Fireplace can always be expected...

Other options at The Fireplace include the comforting pick for Soup of the Day (P 430), a soothing Asparagus Soup (L) topped with fresh herbs (L) and the indulgent Lobster Bisque (P 475) topped with cognac cream, both excellent starters before the main courses at The Fireplace.

The tasty Amuse Bouche (L) at The Fireplace opens up your palate for even more flavors yet to come, with delicatley seared tuna topped with fresh micro greens. Complete your starters with the signature Fireplace Caesar Salad (P 650) topped with slow-cooked egg, Parmesan crisp, and pancetta.

After quick work on the salad, the first of three Rare Delights from The Fireplace was laid on the table, the refreshing Steak Tartare (P 998) topped with confit egg. The richness of the beef are tempered by the soothing heat from the hot chili sauce and hints of Worcestershire, followed by the minty notes of garden-fresh herbs. Fresh, clean and pure flavors, each savory bite lines your palate with a flavorful burst of beefy notes. But there's more...

The elegant Tataki (P 1,400) with soy marinated sirloin, wakami, toasted sesame, nori egg roll, fish roe, and creamy lime mayonnaise adds a unique Japanese spin in both presentation and flavor. The melt-in-your-mouth premium sirloin delivers bold yet subtle beefy flavors followed by the nutty freshness of the seaweed and perfectly finished by the nori egg and lime mayonnaise. The dish combines textural contrasts and distinct layers of flavor in one masterfully executed dish. This one's a personal favorite.

The Italian-inspired Carpaccio of Beef (P 880) with grilled artichoke heart, Parmesan crisps, rocket, garlic aioli, and fried anchovy rounds out the evening's sampler of Rare Delights at The Fireplace. The paper-thin slices of premium beef get a whisper of spicy notes from the fresh arugula and sharp flavors from the Parmesan and anchovies, rounded out by the creamy garlic aioli for balanced flavors. Just perfect. The Fireplace also offers other Rare Delights, including the local Sinuglaw (P 1,200) with diced seared beef and tuna loin marinated in calamansi, fish sauce, chili, ginger, onions and tomatoes; and the legendary Saga Beef (P 2,150) with the world-famous Japanese beef from the Saga Prefecture served with pickled plums, shredded daikon, and sesame vinaigrette (for more on Saga Beef at The Fireplace, see my earlier posts, Made in Saga: The World's Best Coms to New World Manila Bay Hotel... and One Night Only: The Saga Beef Sake Dinner at The Fireplace). The Rare Delights at The Fireplace will be available for the months of June throughout July (for more info on The Fireplace's Rare Delights, check out New World Manila Bay Hotel's link here). The selection of Rare Delights at The Fireplace present a whole new way of enjoying the rich flavors of quality beef, each one an absolute must-try and perfect starter before the signature course...

No dining experience at The Fireplace is ever complete without their trademark Tomahawk...

The Australian Long Fed Tomahawk (P 6,100), a hefty bone-in slab of pure beef bliss, all 1.2 kg of prime beef. Fed with natural grains for 200 days, the beef is fork-tender and juicy, perfectly grilled to medium with a juicy pink center. Each slice of the Tomahawk releases robust beefy notes, with just enough bite to tell you this is serious beef. And with beef this good, you don't need any sauce. But just in case you want some, The Fireplace offers a selection of sauces, including Bearnaise, Red Wine Sauce, Peppercorn Sauce, Dianne Sauce, and Barbecue Sauce.

The Raw Delights and the Tomahawk combine for a carnivorous dining experience like no other at The Fireplace. It's just  one of the many reasons why dining at The Fireplace is special, but save room for dessert. Indulge in their signature Green Tea Cheesecake with fresh mangoes (L) and other sinful temptations.

But there's more happening at The Fireplace, like the cool 50% Discount Offer (see the link, Indulgent 50 at The Fireplace ) and exclusive Father's Day offers (see full offerings from New World Manila Bay Hotel here). Rare Delights, a Tomahawk and more, dining at The Fireplace is always special. See you at The Fireplace...
