Extra Rice, Please: The International Rice Buffet at Seda BGC's Misto

From starters to dessert, this culinary staple is highlighted in one of the metro's unique buffet spreads...

Seda BGC's Misto showcases the versatility of rice with traditional local, Asian, and western dishes in a wide variety of colors, flavors, and textures. It's the International Rice Buffet at Misto...

Located at the heart of Bonifacio Global City, Misto is Seda BGC's all-day dining outlet offering both indoor and al fresco seating options. The streamlined interiors exude a comforting vibe, draped in natural light from the elegant panoramic glass walls, and the perfect spot for a relaxed and intimate lunch right in the middle of it all.

And you can enjoy one of the metro's unique buffet offerings at Misto with its International Rice Buffet. "Our buffet is unique in that it highlights rice rather than the mains, and features a rice dish from starters to dessert,"explained Seda's Group Executive Chef, Romualdo "Pepe" Castillo. It's a celebration of rice, and its versatility.

And each dish reminds us why we love rice. At Misto's International Rice Buffet, you can find Black Forest Rice, a rice variety in its purest form long known for its beneficial anti-oxidants...

...Organic Brown Rice, rich in fiber and nutrients with a low glycemic index...

...Red Rice, with its vibrant hues indicative of its high anthrocyanin content, a compound known for its many beneficial properties...

...and Pilaf Rice, a flavorful rice dish cooked in seasoned broth with a blend of spices. Simply pick your rice and pair it with a main dish. Then, there's the wide variety of tasty starters, all made from rice...

...like the colorful Temari (P), hand-shaped rice balls topped with pickled vegetables; and Kimbap (R), a Korean rice roll dish with seafood and vegetables. And you just can't go wrong with tasty little bites made from this comforting staple.

You can also find California Maki (L) and the Crazy Maki (R) with its bold flavors. And that's just for starters. "We want to cater to varied tastes and preferences," said Chef Pepe, with even more rice dishes featured on the buffet spread.

The rich blend of east-west dishes include the classic Paella Negra, with soft and fluffy rice cooked with squid-ink topped with seafood and vegetables...

...the iconic Creole Jambalaya Rice with onions, celery, green bell peppers and flavorful spice blend...

...the creamy Risotto Primavera with moist rice and vegetables...

...and the familiar Shanghai Rice, everyone's favorite, pairing well with local and Asian dishes. The  offerings are rotated daily with other rice dishes like Mongolian Rice, Nasi Goreng, Biryani, Bagoong Rice with Green Mango, and Adobo Rice wrapped in Banana Leaf as part of Misto's menu cycle. It's a lunchtime treat offering a mix of western and eastern flavors, including  tasty selections for a healthier alternative.

Start your feast at Seda BGC's Misto with a refreshing bowl of garden-fresh greens at the Salad Station (L), with its wide variety of fresh vegetables and dressings. Don't forget to load up on some Fresh Spring Rolls (R) too.

That day, the mains at Misto's buffet spread featured the Korean Beef Stew, with fork-tender chunks of beef cooked for hours with vegetables and spices, perfect when paired with the Shanghai Rice or the Jambalaya Rice.

Pork Barbecue, fresh from the grill, draped with a sweet glaze, works well with the Shanghai Rice.

The creamy Seafood Ala King, with plump mussels, squid, and shrimps, is another flavorful option, pairing well with the equally creamy Risotto Primavera.

Light and healthy options include the tasty Vegetable Curry (L) with its bold flavors, and the Salmon Teriyaki (R), with the butter-like creaminess of the salmon punctuated by the sweet teriyaki sauce for contrasting notes.

Indulge in classic local flavors like the Chicken Adobo...

...the juicy Chicken Barbecue (L) and the hearty and comforting Pork Belly Sinigang (R) with slabs of pork belly simmered in a sour broth with fresh vegetables. Pairing the rice selection with the mains becomes a fun experience at Misto's International Rice Buffet, adding a twist to the usual dining experience.

And you can come back for seconds and thirds, and try new combinations. Cap your feast with Misto's indulgent desserts, including Cheesecake and elegant Chocolate Cakes and pastries to end your dining experience on a high note.

Or why not come full circle with Misto's rice-based desserts, like the Sticky Rice with Mango...

...and Glutinous Rice with Sweet Coconut, each one highlighting the versatility of this culinary staple. Seda BGC's International Rice Buffet at Misto is priced at P 700++ per person, available Tuesdays to Fridays (except holidays).
